Tips

culture
In 望庐山瀑布 李白 calls the peak just 香炉: 日照香炉生紫烟, "sunlight on the Censer breeds a purple haze". Mount Lu in fact has two peaks of this name: the waterfall falls from the southern one, and 白居易 built a thatched cottage below the northern one, writing of lifting his blind to see the snow on it.
usage
Beijing's 香山, the Fragrant Hills, takes its name from its own 香炉峰, a rock on the summit shaped like an incense burner.
