饵块 is a Yunnan specialty made by steaming long-grain rice and pounding it into a dense, chewy cake. It is sold as slabs (for grilling and wrapping around a 油条) or cut into slices (for the stir-fry 大救驾); cut into thin strands it becomes 饵丝. The name 饵 originally meant 'cake offering' in classical Chinese.
