Tips

history
Before him the Shang had moved their capital several times. After he settled at Yin, near 安阳 in Henan, it stayed there until the dynasty fell, which is why the Shang are also called 殷 or 殷商, and the site where the oracle bones were found is 殷墟.
culture
The chapter's line 若火之燎于原, 'like fire blazing across the plain', is the source of 燎原 'to set the prairie ablaze'. Shang kings were named with the ten Heavenly Stems, 天干, and 庚 is the seventh.
