Tips

usage
In notices and orders 切切 adds force: 切切不可 means "under no circumstances". In 白居易's 琵琶行 it is a sound word: 小弦切切如私语 (the thin strings murmur like whispered secrets), close to 窃窃私语 (to whisper).
mistakes
切 is qiè "earnest; urgent" in every sense of this word, never qiē "to cut".
