Tiny eggs with grey-white shells speckled brown. They are boiled, peeled and braised in soy sauce and spices, often sold packed as a snack, or cracked into a griddle pan and sold on skewers at street stalls.
About 1/5 the size of a chicken egg, with speckled shells. Common in Chinese braised dishes (红烧, 卤味), hot pot, and as garnish in 佛跳墙. Considered nutritionally rich in traditional Chinese medicine.
