American singer-songwriter whose 1960s songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" became anthems of the protest movements. In 2016 he won the Nobel Prize in Literature, the first songwriter to receive it.
Born Robert Zimmerman, he took his stage name partly from the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. In Chinese his anthems are 《答案在风中飘》, 'the answer drifts in the wind' (Blowin' in the Wind), and 《像一块滚石》 (Like a Rolling Stone).
