usage
贪 "greedy for" before an activity names a weakness for it: 贪玩, 贪吃 (greedy for food), 贪睡 (fond of sleeping in). Said of a child, 贪玩 is a mild, almost fond complaint; said of an adult it means neglecting work for fun.
