About Silvio Berlusconi

Italian media tycoon who built the Mediaset TV empire, then entered politics and led four governments as Prime Minister between 1994 and 2011. Football fans know him as the owner of AC Milan in its most successful era.

In 2017 he sold AC Milan for about 740 million euros, debt included, to a company controlled by the Chinese businessman 李勇鸿. In July 2018 Li missed a payment on the loan behind the deal, and his lender, the US fund Elliott, took the club.
