history
罗便臣 follows Cantonese, where it reads lo⁴ bin⁶ san⁴, close to 'Robinson'; Mandarin renders the name 罗宾逊. To keep two governors apart, the earlier Sir Hercules Robinson is now called 罗士敏, after his later title, Lord Rosmead.
