Tips

history
蒋公 refers to 蒋介石 (1887-1975), leader of the Kuomintang (KMT), commander-in-chief of Republican China through WWII, and leader of Taiwan from 1949 until his death. The 公 (gōng) suffix is a respectful 'Lord/Sir' applied to revered male elders or statesmen.
register
蒋公 is the reverential form used mainly in Taiwan, especially by the KMT and on memorials (e.g. 蒋公纪念歌, 'Memorial Song for Chiang Gong'). In mainland China he is simply called 蒋介石.
