About the ingredient

水果 Fruit · In season: summer and autumn

A small, round watermelon with mildly sweet flesh packed with large black or red seeds. In Gansu and Ningxia people break it open by hand and eat the flesh, while the seeds are saved and sold as snack melon seeds.
