Tips

culture
The Four Symbols (四象) guard the four directions: 青龙 the east, 朱雀 the south, 白虎 the west and 玄武 the north. The tiger is white because in the five phases the west goes with metal, autumn and the colour white. In Hong Kong gangster films, 左青龙,右白虎 is the classic pair of arm tattoos.
register
In crude slang 白虎 also describes a woman with no pubic hair, so it makes a poor nickname.
