理科 'the sciences' and
工科 'engineering' and usually comes before another word:
理工科 'STEM subjects',
理工男 'an engineering guy', a joke about logical, awkward men. In university names it means 'Institute of Technology':
麻省理工学院 'MIT',
加州理工学院 'Caltech'.
