His record label sold him as a 浪子, a drifter or prodigal, with the slogan 昨日的浪子，今日的巨星，明日的传奇, 'yesterday's prodigal, today's superstar, tomorrow's legend'. The tag carried into song titles such as 《谁明浪子心》 'who understands a prodigal's heart?'
