The last line of 崔颢's 《黄鹤楼》, after 日暮乡关何处是: at dusk the traveller on the tower looks for his home and sees only mist over the Yangtze. 烟波 is mist-covered water. A story has 李白 read the poem on the tower and decline to write one of his own.
