Tips

history
Sichuan, emptied by his wars and those after them, was refilled by settlers, many from Huguang (today's Hubei and Hunan): a movement still called 湖广填四川, 'Huguang fills Sichuan'. By the 1720s most people in Sichuan were reportedly newcomers or their children.
culture
Legend says he set up a 七杀碑, 'Seven Kills Stele', ending with 杀 'kill' carved seven times. A stele found in 1934 and thought to be the one has no such line, so the story is probably a later invention.
