history
Accounts place him in the late Yuan or early Ming. Ming emperors sent envoys to look for him without success, and the 永乐 emperor's great temple building on 武当山 was partly in his honour. That he invented tai chi is legend: the art's recorded history begins in the 17th century with the Chen family of Chenjiagou in Henan.
