Tips

history
One of the core Mohist doctrines, beside 兼爱 (impartial love) and 非攻 (against wars of aggression). Against the Zhou custom of giving office to kin and nobles, 墨子 argued that even farmers and craftsmen should be raised up if able: 官无常贵,而民无终贱, 'officials are not noble for ever, nor the people lowly to the end'. The chapters also quote the 汤誓 on working with one heart and united strength, 戮力同心.
