The quick-witted young goat who leads the flock in the cartoon 喜羊羊与灰太狼 (2005), always outsmarting the wolf 灰太狼; a favourite of Chinese children born after 2000.
Most goats are named for a trait plus a doubled 羊: 美羊羊 'pretty', 懒羊羊 'lazy', 沸羊羊 'boiling', the hothead. Fans joke 做人要做懒羊羊，嫁人就嫁灰太狼, 'live like Lazy Goat, marry Big Big Wolf', the devoted husband.
