history
Legend makes her the youngest sister of 善德女王 (Queen Seondeok), Silla's first reigning queen. A 2009 find at 弥勒寺 (Mireuksa) in Iksan clouded the tale: an inscription there names the queen who founded the temple as a Baekje noble's daughter.
memory
善 (good, virtuous) + 花 (flower) - 'virtuous flower', a graceful name. The same hanzi work as both Korean Hanja and Chinese characters; the Korean reading is Seonhwa, Mandarin reading is Shànhuā.
